Serene Journey - here's a post on keeping a gratitude journal-I've been keeping my own gratitude journal for the past few months, not missing even a day since I started (that's really something for me too! and it's not a chore either, I look forward to writing in it every night before I go to bed.) I list at least 5 things, but there are days when I list way more (love those days!). I don't have any rules besides the listing at least 5 things-I don't worry about listing items over again on different days, if that is what I'm truly grateful for that day, I write it! There are days when it seems like I can't think of a thing, but they are getting less frequent as time goes by.
This isn't a new site for me, but I just rediscovered it. There's just so many links I love, I forget to visit them all (it's impossible to visit them all!)
Love this painting-if only I could paint like that:)
I'm going to order some of these wide headbands as soon as I have a little extra $ !
That's it for now. I've been fighting a horrible toothache for the past few days, and I can feel it coming on again:( So, I'm off to take some advil and lie down-have a good evening!! xoxo Trish
I hope to start buying some good pens soon and it looks like this blog will help me decide which ones to try.
We have nothing like this around here. I MUST have some for my art journal!!
This girl has some of the best videos, I just love her work:)
It's SO true, breathing can really help to calm you down. It's the first thing I do when I start to feel that old anxiety choking me.....just slow down, breathe and keep focusing on the breath. I've noticed that I don't get upset over the little things too much anymore either, now that I've gotten into the habit of just focusing on my breath and staying in the moment.
I think I've posted this video before-but I enjoy watching it so here it is again!
*** I've tried to get my son interested in art in the past, with no luck, but last night I found him drawing at the kitchen table, and I must say, he did a great job! I gave him a new sketchbook that I had planned to use when I am done with the one I'm using, and he's been sketching ever since:) As soon as I can, I'll share some pics with you- have a great weekend xoxo Trish
Got the blues? Here's some tips on how to get out of it using journaling.
If I had the money, I think this would be a great program to go through. After you finish you can start up journal workshops in your own area-there's nothing like that around here, plus journaling is such good medicine.
*** Hopefully, I'll have some new pics to show this evening! I'm almost done with my canvas, and I'm already itching to start on another.....just don't know WHAT I want to do next. have a peaceful evening xoxo Trish

I've tried this journal exercise in my writing journal, and plan to use it more in the future (I found out about it from reading The New Diary)
The Simple Rules of Life - I believe it when I read that the answers lie inside us, but I haven't been able to find those answers in myself yet....I'm still working on it (on me)
The Abundance Site - this one is new to me, but it's along the lines of what I've been reading about, so I want to check it out more!
I must post this link now, before I forget! Every night, before I fall asleep, I listen to my ipod. Last night I was listening to an interview of Lily Koppel, who wrote The Red Leather Diary. What a wonderful story she has, it was just kind of magical to listen to. I'm not sure how to post the link to the interview, but if you have itunes, you can search for the podcast Journaling For a Better Life. If you go to the book's website, you can watch a little video that explains how Lily came to write the book, though it's much better to hear her tell it in the interview. Hope you enjoy it if you decide to listen:) xoxo Trish
Milliande has some great vintage letters to use in your mixed media art-free! She also has a great group on ning, though I haven't checked in there for a long time:( I'm really bad at keeping up with the ning groups!
I've used some of these free images in my art journal
