The canvas at the top is a big canvas, so it's just a little view of what it looks like-the only thing I did this evening was doodle that coffee cup and flowers, but it was something;)

I scanned these, so I couldn't get the whole canvas in 1 shot, but I like how the scans turn out much better:) Hopefully I'll have a couple art journal pages to share with you tomorrow...

Canvas-Work In Progress

***I just had to say...it looks better in person-maybe it's my photo taking skills, or lack of-but her face looks so much better when I'm looking at it here at home, I rubbed off allot of it so the background would show through....plus her hair, the background shows through there too, but don't know if you can tell-I wanted her to kinda be fading away and old looking, maybe I'll rub off some more paint, I'm just afraid the layers under her may be fragile;) Oh well, I'll keep playing around with it, tomorrow-now it's time for bed. Just finished watching Weeds-love that show, the only complaint is it should be an hour long, not 30 minutes!

New Pics :)

I finally found out that it's not my computer that was messed up (well, it wasn't why I couldn't upload images anyways) it is firefox. I tried explorer and I could upload my images just fine(what browser do you use? internet explorer? firefox? I'm just wondering if I should switch for good).

 

It's been awhile since I sketched and shaded faces, I need to get more practice-I had a tough time with the shading, figuring out which watercolor pencils to use.

 

 

The scan is blurry, my canvas won't fit on the scanner-but I think I'm done with the above canvas-I'll post a better pic after I take a digital pic of it:)

this is just a peek at the canvas I'm working on now-don't know if you can see the pencil lines, but there's (hopefully) going to be a face there soon ;)

Sneak Peek WIP for IS Creative Team Gallery

I'm not sure what this canvas is going to look like when I finish, so here's just a peek at part of it. I'm using digital items that I printed out, from the Illustrating Stories store, and will post it in the creative team gallery. I feel like I haven't made enough for the gallery, but it takes me so long to actually finish a piece. Mostly because it goes through so many changes, and also because it sits for awhile, waiting for (more) inspiration to hit. I just really appreciate being given the chance to be a part of the team though, Illustrating Stories is great (thank you Liz and Jackie!) and they were one of the first blogs I found when I started blogging, so that makes it mean so much more. Anyways, here's that peak!! I better quit rambling and go see what else is going to happen with it ;)

art journaling on canvas

I forgot to take a pic of it until after I hung it on my wall-I enjoyed working on it:)

*** I made the next piece to cut up and use for collages, but decided I liked it too much to cut up-so I added some text and I'm really not sure if I'm done with it. I don't know how to make my pics look better, I need to practice more I guess........ This one turned out blurrier than the first, because my hand was shaking more I guess???

p.s. I finished writing my interview questions for Violette (there's just 7 or so) and will be posting them during her blog party-I'll let you know when I set the date! hope you enjoy it:)

**Amy-your pkg. has made it to the living room! I set it out there so I wouldn't forget it in the morning, and guess what?! I walked right by it this morning and just now thought about it!

here's one of my current creations-I'm going to add a photo and not sure what else, IF anything else, but here's what I have so far....excuse the bad pic-It's too big to scan and I REALLY need to work on my photo taking skills;)

this looks so much better in person, I almost decided to skip posting it! The colors didn't look right so I've been trying to full with the color adjustments, plus the scanner cut the bottom of the canvas off-I don't know, it just all looks more "blended" in person, so I guess it's the color that is off?.....maybe I've been looking at the screen too long!!
anyways, the words say "forgotten names and splendid words dance over the tangled earth"

oh yeah, the house in the photo was my grandma's house, but the photo must be from before they lived there (different people's names on the back-it's a postcard really) I thought maybe they found it when they moved in? Not sure-

anyways, maybe tomorrow I'll try to fool with it some more to get the colors adjusted right....

**** maybe it's the wax splotches I don't like-I could try scraping it off.....? but when I look at the actual canvas, it seems to blend in fine, so maybe it's just because the colors are off on here-ok, ok, I'm not going to think about it anymore! I'm letting it go....

journal pages, canvas collage

just a sort of mini "vision board" thing-I've done a couple of these, and they are pretty fun. Now, if only it would come true!


another fun page-I think I'm finally loosening up with working in my book and just doing whatever I feel like :)

My scanner just isn't big enough-the sides are cut off, so just imagine the orange border all around it:) Did this on the box type of canvas, I like those better.

****A friend is coming over this evening to watch Weeds and a movie (Lakeview Drive I think is the name-looks good) Since Nate is gone for the evening I will have Janie pick a number for me for the giveaway, so I'll be back later with the winner's name!
